HISTORY OF ORGANIZATION

Established in Osaka on January 21, 1928, as a film education research society,whose members consisted mostly of elementary school teachers.In 1943 it was amalgamated with a Government agency following similar activities,and became the central body catering for promotion and development of film education subsidized by the Ministry of Education. This organization became independent from Governmental control in 1946 to conform with the requirement of new constitution established after World War II,and was reorganized as a public non-profit organization aiming at promotion and development of the effective use of audio-visual aids in education.
